Event Occurred Off Coast, No Damage or Injuries Reported

Residents Report Feeling Shaking, No Tsunami Warning Issued

A 3.6-magnitude earthquake shook the Malibu area on Saturday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The quake occurred around 2:30 p.m. and was centered about 7 miles offshore, approximately 3 miles south of Corral Canyon.

Residents in the area reported feeling shaking, but there were no reports of damage or injuries. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said they received no calls for service related to the earthquake.

The USGS said there is no tsunami warning in effect. The quake was the largest in the area since a 4.4-magnitude temblor in July 2020.
