Boston Takes Early Advantage With 4 3 Victory

Bruins Defeat Panthers in Game 1 of Second-Round Playoff Series

Boston Takes Early Advantage with 4-3 Victory

Boston Bruins 4, Florida Panthers 3

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston Bruins took an early lead in their second-round playoff series against the Florida Panthers with a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 1 on Wednesday night.

The Bruins, who finished second in the Atlantic Division during the regular season, managed to overcome a strong start by the Panthers, who led the division standings.

David Pastrnak scored twice for Boston, including the game-winning goal in overtime, while Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy also found the net.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 38 saves for the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bruins' offensive firepower.

The series will continue with Game 2 in Boston on Friday night.
