While this is still below the pre-pandemic norm, it represents a substantial increase from the low levels experienced during the lockdown period.
Over the recent four-day weekend from Thursday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 5th, Birmingham Airport recorded over 147,000 passengers passing through its terminals. This surge in traffic indicates that people are eager to resume travel as restrictions are lifted.
The easing of lockdown measures is not only affecting Birmingham Airport; other airports across the country are also witnessing a rise in passenger numbers.
